Operating Engineers 324 Endorses Brinks and Hood in Grand Rapids-Area Legislative Races
Candidates Support Working People and Rebuilding our Infrastructure
GRAND RAPIDS –– Operating Engineers 324 today endorsed two candidates in Grand Rapids-area legislative races because of their support of rebuilding our infrastructure, working people and creating jobs.
OE 324 is endorsing state Rep. Winnie Brinks (D-Grand Rapids), who’s running in the open 29th State Senate District, and Rachel Hood, a Democrat running in the open 76th State House District.
“Winnie Brinks and Rachel Hood know that the only way to move Grand Rapids and all of Michigan forward is by rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure. Their support for working people and the middle class is critical this election year. Operating Engineers 324 is proud to endorse Winnie Brinks and Rachel Hood for the Michigan Legislature,” said Operating Engineers 324 President Ken Dombrow.
Brinks has represented the 76th State House District since 2013 and is term-limited. Brinks previously worked as a caseworker helping businesses and nonprofits to grow and retain employees. Hood is the owner of City Built Brewing and has been part of many community organizations, including the West Grand Neighborhood Organization and Local First.
“We need more state legislators who will fight for good jobs and the middle class. OE 324 knows that Winnie Brinks and Rachel Hood will be dedicated partners in our efforts to train the skilled tradespeople of tomorrow,” said OE 324 Business Manager Douglas W. Stockwell.
