2023 Labor Day Events

DETROIT LABOR DAY PARADE AND PICNIC

Equipment line-up will take place at 8:00 am in front of the Stationary Engineers Education Center. The parade begins at 9:00 am. There will be a picnic in the parking lot of the Stationary Engineers Education Center after the walk. Because of the picnic, there will be limited parking in the lot. On street parking is available on Abbott and Lafayette.

ESCANABA PARADE & PICNIC

Parade lineup is at 11AM at the Marketplace downtown on Ludington Street.  The parade starts at noon, with a celebration to follow between 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Municipal Dock.  There will be live music, prize drawings between 1:00-6:00 pm, as well as a Petting Zoo/Bounce House, beer tent and food vendors.

MACKINAC BRIDGE WALK & PICNIC

The staging area for the Labor Day Picnic and Bridge Walk is at Alexander Henry Park next to (east) the bridge entrance and Colonial Michilimackinac park on the city’s north end. The picnic will begin at 10:00 am with lunch at 11:00 am. There will be hot dogs and chips, along with soda and water served at the picnic. For those who plan on walking the bridge, please meet at the 324 banner at the Alexander Henry Park entrance, so you can walk in groups with members. The walk starts at 7:00 am and you can walk from the south side, halfway across the bridge, turn around and return to the same place eliminating the need for bussing. Walkers will start from St. Ignace and Mackinac City.

For staff who will be attending, please let Tony Bolanowski know prior to the event and he will provide any other details that are needed.

Staff meet at 5:30/6am to setup tents and get shirts ready to be handed out for walkers. Tony usually makes breakfast for staff who is helping, and there will be donuts and coffee.

MUSKEGON UNITED LABOR DAY PARADE AND PICNIC

Parade participants must arrive between 10:00 am and 10:30 am rain or shine.  Parade starts at 11:00 am sharp.  Lineup will be at 486 West Western Ave.  Join us after the parade for a picnic and festivities at Hackley Park.
